The Buick Envision is a compact luxury SUV that was made available for the first time in the U.S. for the 2016 model year. The Envision slots into Buick’s lineup in between the diminutive Encore subcompact crossover model and larger three-row Enclave. It takes on competitors such as the Lincoln MKC and Acura RDX.
With a five-star overall vehicle score for safety from NHTSA and many intuitive features, the Envision looks to be a strong player among luxury SUVs.
The Envision is known for its nimble handling and responsive steering. This is mainly due to its HiPer Strut front suspension, which also makes cornering easier and reduces noise and vibration. It also features an intelligent Twin Clutch All-Wheel drive, which monitors traction and sends more power to the wheels with the most grip to make driving around curves smoother and easier than ever before.
The 2016 Envision was exclusively powered by GM’s 2.0-liter turbo-charged 252 horsepower four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. It had a starting price of $42,995.
For 2017, the Envision was also offered with a less potent 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine generating 197 horsepower. This engine choice was paired with three new trim levels with less features, allowing Buick to lower the entry price to a much more attractive $34,990.
The interior of the Envision has been designed to make your drive as comfortable and easy as possible as a luxury vehicle should. The center stack has an intuitive design that lets you easily adjust the settings of your vehicle without becoming too distracted or taking your eyes off the road, while the soft seats and ample leg room keep things comfortable for you and all of your passengers.
The Envision is also equipped with plenty of modern technological features such as the Surround Vision Camera and Automatic Park Assist, both of which work together to help you stay aware of your surroundings as you drive and park. A 4G wi-fi hotspot is also available if you want to stream your favorite music or movies for your passengers during long trips.
A Bose premium sound system is a standard feature, as our active noise cancellation, power liftgate, and nineteen inch wheels. A panoramic moonroof is available as an option.
Start-Stop technology will help you conserve fuel by automatically shutting off the engine when you come to a stop. The Start-Stop technology often shuts down your engine and starts it back up again so quickly that most drivers don’t even realize it.
Comprehensive Safety Features
The Envision has been given a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA. Thanks to features such as five surround cameras, ten ultrasonic sensors and three radars, you will be made aware of your surroundings at all times. There is also optional front crash protection to make your drive even safer.
Should you end up in an accident or have some other emergency on the road, the OnStar system that comes equipped with every new Envision will make sure that you receive the assistance that you need to get back onto the road.
The Envision is the first ever Chinese built vehicle sold in America. It’s built at GM’s Shanghai factory. The decision to sell the vehicle in America has drawn opposition from the United Auto Workers.
The Envision features a spacious interior, excellent tech features, and easy handling, and safety ratings. It looks to emerge as a solid family SUV choice in the compact luxury class in America and abroad.
